There are things that should be kept in mind before finalizing a place. We are listing a few of the things below that we believe are a must to be considered-
#1 Check Destination Temperature
Before selecting any destination for workation, it is advised to check the temperature. Basis that you can finalize the place for it. Moreover, you will be able to carry items that are essential and apt to meet the requirements during a particular season or as per temperature.
You should always check or research about the weather conditions of the destination of your work vacation. If you don't do so, it might take a toll on your health and that is the last thing you want on your workation. For eg.- If you decide to work from Manali, you should always check the weather conditions since it is a cold place.
#2 Good Internet Speed
You are going to spend half your time completing your office work. A stable internet connection is a must at work from resorts. You may or may not get local internet service providers depending upon the location. Before heading to the destination, make sure you get a wifi connection in your homestay or carry your own portable routers. You can also talk to the landlord or manager of your stay in case you have any difficulty.
#3 Parking & Few Grocery Shops nearby
If you are planning to carry your own vehicle on your work from homestay then parking space is one thing you should look for. This will also give you an idea as to how much is the distance between parking space and property. This will further ensure convenience in going to and fro. Also, do enquire about the shops nearby so that any essentials required can be purchased. Also, you can carry a checklist of items to facilitate ease.
#4 Close to Nature
The fundamental purpose of going on a work vacation is to avoid your city life for a few days. Make sure that you choose a place that keeps you connected with nature and gives you peace. Whether it is a beach or mountain, resort or homestay, refrain from selecting a stay that is located in the centre of the city.
#5 With all Meals
Meals are one of the important aspects that you should worry about. Due to your busy schedule, you might not be able to cook every day. This is why you must choose a place for yourself that offers you all three meals- breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Along with meals, it should also offer you evening snacks and tea or coffee. You should also consider that the meals are timely and hygienic so that it does not affect your working hours and health respectively. If your homestay offers the option of customized meals, then your work from homestay would be pure bliss.
#6 Tourist Attractions Nearby
You need to make sure that the tourist attractions or places you must visit on your work vacation are nearby. We are sure, you do not want to lose your time, money, and energy in unnecessary travel. Having places to go nearby makes it easy for you and you can visit the destinations at any point in time without wasting any time. That saved time can be used in relaxing or completing your work.
#7 Budget
One of the most important questions that you should ask yourself before selecting any destination. Only you can decide how and where you want to spend your time on your work vacation, whether you want to stay in resorts, homestays, glamping, bungalows, etc. We, at workation India have mentioned varied properties across different budget slabs. One can easily compare and match the property with budget. Obviously, you cannot have a bungalow at the price of a homestay, so you must decide accordingly.
